Maria Kiesner

Urodzona w 1976 roku; absolwentka Wydziału Malarstwa w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie (dyplom pod kierunkiem prof. J. Modzelewskiego). W 2009 obroniła doktorat pod tytułem “Miasto przed burzą” na Wydziale Sztuki Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Ko­pernika w Toruniu. W latach 2005 i 2007 stypendystka MKiDN. Od 2008 roku pracuje w Instytut Edukacji Artystycznej gdzie prowadzi zajęcia z przedmiotów malarstwo oraz metodyka nauczania plastyki. W roku akademickim 2015-2016 pracowała jako asystent w pracowni Malarstwa i Rysunku Prof. Andrzeja Bieńkowskiego i Prof. Łukasza Korolkiewicza na Wydziale Wzornictwa warszawskiej ASP oraz prowadziła samodzielnie pracownię malarstwa w Katedrze Mody Wydziału Wzornictwa APS w Warszawie. W roku 2017 decyzją Rady Wydziału Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie uzyskała stopień doktora habilitowanego.

Maria Kiesner. Born in 1976, graduated with a degree in Painting, under the mentorship of Professor J. Modzelewski, from the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw. In 2009, Maria completed her Ph.D. in Art, titled 'The city before the Storm,' at the N. Copernicus Fine Art Academy in Torun. Between 2005 and 2007 she pursued a fellowship at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Warsaw. From 2008 her professional career pivoted when she became Associate Professor at the Maria Grzegorzewska College of Artistic Education in Warsaw, where she teaches painting and the methodology of teaching art, to this day. During the 2015 - 2016 academic year she worked as Head Assistant in the studio of Painting and Drawing, under Professors' Andrzej Bieńkowski and Łukasz Korolkiewicz at the Fine Art Academy's Faculty of Design. She simultaneously ran an independent Painting Studio within the Fashion Division of the APS Design Department in Warsaw. Most recently, in 2017, by the decision of the High Council of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, she obtained her Postdoctoral title.
